India-hosted by design.
The production-cloud roadmap specifies Indian regions for device services, event clips and operational logs. Deployment and data controls will be validated before service launch.
NETRA’s own-design platform is being shaped around secure device identity, verified software and transparent lifecycle management.
MeitY’s CCTV Essential Requirements and STQC’s testing and evaluation process inform our engineering requirements, traceability and pre-release validation plan.
NETRA products are not currently presented as STQC-certified. Applicable model-level testing and certification must be completed before the corresponding release claims are made.
Official STQC scheme and proceduresA requirement has to lead to an implementation and a test. Our engineering documents track that chain.
| AREA | OBJECTIVE | DESIGN APPROACH | RELEASE EVIDENCE |
|---|---|---|---|
| Boot integrity | Refuse unauthorised firmware at startup | Signed boot-chain design and verified, read-only root filesystem. | Hardware integration and tamper-image testing |
| Device identity | Give every device its own credentials | Per-unit keys and certificates, secure provisioning and protected key storage. | Provisioning-line and extraction testing |
| Activation | Remove shared default-password risk | Forced activation and documented device ownership flow. | End-to-end activation validation |
| Firmware updates | Verify before installing | Signed A/B update bundles, version checks and recoverable rollback. | Interrupted-update and tamper testing |
| Communications | Protect control and video paths | HTTPS, validated TLS and certificate-based device-to-cloud connectivity. | Protocol scans and interoperability testing |
| Software inventory | Know what goes into the image | Component disclosure, licence gates, SBOM and vulnerability review workflow. | Release evidence and independent assessment |
Our direction is Indian product design, own firmware, local assembly and an India-hosted cloud. It is a programme of engineering and manufacturing work, with supplier and component origins documented as part of the process.
Camera designs currently target Novatek-class platforms, with Sony sensor families as primary candidates. Global components are part of the plan; local-content and certification claims will be established for the actual released models.
Our development directionThe production-cloud roadmap specifies Indian regions for device services, event clips and operational logs. Deployment and data controls will be validated before service launch.
The initial cloud-recording scope is event clips. Face recognition is outside the initial product scope. Access and sharing are designed around explicit permissions.
Staged updates, fleet health, vulnerability handling and auditable release evidence are part of the engineering roadmap.
